The sweltering heat of summer in Kansas City will be here before we know it. As the mercury rises, air conditioning becomes less of a luxury and more of a necessity. But keeping your home comfortable, or even tolerable, can be a drain on your bank account. If you are a Missouri KCP&L customer, KCP&L’s Air Conditioning Upgrade Rebate Program can help you stay cooler and more comfortable this summer and save you money at the same time.
Older, inefficient air conditioning systems run up higher electric bills and leave you with a warm, stuffy house. KCP&L is offering rebates of up to $850 to Missouri customers who upgrade to a new, high-efficiency air conditioning system. To take advantage of this offer, start by hiring a KCP&L certified HVAC professional, such as Overland Park Heating and Cooling, and schedule an air conditioning system check-up. If you meet the eligibility requirements and replace your current system, Overland Park Heating and Cooling will provide you with an instant rebate in the form of a credit on your invoice.
To qualify for the rebate, you must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- You must be a Missouri KCP&L residential customer. (A similar program for Kansas customers has expired.)
- Your current central air conditioning system must be in working order and operate without problems and be tested by a KCP&L certified HVAC contractor, such as Overland Park Heating and Cooling.
- Your current central air conditioning system must have an Energy Efficiency Rating of 8.0 or below.
- Your new central air conditioning system must have a Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating level of 14.0 or higher and be installed by a certified KCP&L contractor.
KCP&L will provide a rebate of $650 for each system with a 14.0 to 15.9 SEER level and $850 per system with a SEER level of 16.0 and higher. If you have more than one air conditioning system, you can receive a rebate for each new system installed that meets all of the eligibility requirements. The rebate does not apply to window or portable air conditioning units. It also does not apply to new systems already installed or new systems installed by non-certified contractors.
Call Overland Park Heating and Cooling today to take advantage of this rebate program and ensure your house is ready before summer heat arrives.
