This drop in air pressure attracts outside air in through any leaks you have. You will be able to actually see where they are by using a smoke pencil and watching where the air is blowing it.
These are often used in tandem with thermographic scans. Using infrared video, they create an image that allows you to see where temperature variations are throughout your house. Spots like these often require more insulation.
Energy evaluations are incredibly useful if you are about to upgrade to a new HVAC system. By increasing your home’s efficiency before a new purchase, you can actually reduce your home’s overall energy requirements, allowing you to heat and cool your home with smaller and more affordable equipment.
Many of the things you can do to make your home more energy efficient are simple and inexpensive. For example, holes and cracks in your ducts can be patched over with duct mastic that keeps air from escaping.
